If your insurance plan covers acupuncture for your condition, we will bill the plan directly and you will only be responsible for the stipulated co-payment. However, it is essential to verify that you have acupuncture coverage for your condition prior to your initial visit. If your insurance company declines to cover for the acupuncture, you are responsible for full payment.
Acupuncture and Medicare: Medicare has recently started to cover acupuncture for the treatment of chronic low back pain in seniors. However, Licensed Acupuncturists are not yet included as official Medicare providers. There is an act before Congress to fix this situation, so please call your local Congressional Representative and ask them to support HR.4803, the Acupuncture for Our Seniors Act of 2021.
